I am an experienced writer with six major books with prestigious publishers such as Harpercollins. Due to slowdown for health reasons, I need help to rapidly finish my remaining books that are in the pipeline. Themes revolve around India (its civilization, history, dharma, etc) and its relationship with the West and world culture.
We can start with drafts for chapters that are ready; then some chapters where notes/research complete and drafting remains in semi-complete stage.
Total book size tends to be 400 pages each.
1) My writing is research based and meant to convince academics that their cherished assumptions are often wrong. Hence the rigor, lots of references, etc. But my target readers always include mainstream/non-academic readers. I want them drawn into the conversation as this concerns their areas of interest. So the style must be compelling and yet based on clear presentation of arguments.
2) You do not need any background in this subject matter, but must have simplified serious works before.
3) Flexible on hourly rate - good editing is worth a lot, I know.
4) Location can be anywhere.
If the relationship works out for one book, I have enough work to keep someone busy full-time for a while.
