Job Title: OTR Box Truck Driver / CDL Port Driver
M&M Transport & Hauling Inc. is hiring experienced and reliable drivers for our current freight operations.
We are looking for qualified drivers for two types of work:
1. OTR / Regional Box Truck Freight
For Non-CDL and CDL box truck drivers with experience hauling freight over the road and regionally.
2. CDL Port / Intermodal Freight
For CDL drivers with experience working around ports, terminals, containers, chassis, and intermodal freight.
This is not furniture delivery or helper work. We are looking for professional drivers who can operate safely, communicate with dispatch, handle paperwork, follow DOT/FMCSA requirements, and represent the company professionally with brokers, shippers, receivers, ports, and customers.
Responsibilities:
Operate commercial vehicles safely and professionally
Pick up and deliver freight according to dispatch instructions
Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Follow pickup and delivery appointments
Secure freight properly using straps, load bars, e-track, blankets, or other equipment
Submit BOLs, PODs, photos, receipts, and required paperwork on time
Communicate with dispatch regarding delays, truck issues, detention, layovers, port delays, and delivery updates
Follow DOT, FMCSA, broker, customer, port, terminal, and company safety procedures
Maintain clean and organized equipment
Represent M&M Transport & Hauling Inc. professionally at all times.
OTR / Box Truck Driver Requirements:
Valid driver’s license required
Non-CDL drivers welcome
CDL is a plus
Box truck experience required
OTR or regional freight experience preferred
Experience driving 24 ft or 26 ft box trucks preferred
Must be comfortable driving out of state
Must understand pickup appointments, delivery appointments, and freight paperwork
Must be able to use GPS, phone apps, photos, and paperwork uploads
ELD/logbook app experience preferred
Must be dependable and able to work with limited supervision
Must pass MVR review and background screening if required
CDL Port / Intermodal Driver Requirements:
Valid CDL required
CDL Class A preferred
Valid DOT medical card required
TWIC card preferred / may be required for port access
Port or intermodal experience preferred
Container and chassis experience preferred
Experience with Port Newark, Port Elizabeth, Bayonne, or NY/NJ terminals is a plus
Must understand port appointments, terminal check-in, container pickup, empty return, and port delays
Must be able to inspect chassis, containers, tires, lights, brakes, and equipment
Must communicate professionally with dispatch, terminals, brokers, shippers, and receivers
Must pass MVR review, background screening, and customer/port approval if required

Schedule:
OTR, regional, local, and port opportunities may be available
Schedule depends on lane, freight availability, appointment times, and customer requirements
Drivers must be flexible with pickup and delivery times
Overnight or multi-day routes may be required for OTR work
Port work may require early start times and flexibility due to terminal delays
Compensation:
Pay based on experience, lane, equipment, and loads completed
Weekly pay

Onboarding and lane training provided before starting
Requirements for All Drivers
Must be reliable, professional, and safety-focused
Must have a valid driver’s license or CDL for the position applied for
Must have a clean and acceptable driving record
Must complete required onboarding documents
Must follow company safety and communication procedures
Must be able to complete inspections and report issues immediately
Must have a smartphone with reliable service for GPS, photos, paperwork, and communication
Must be able to communicate clearly with dispatch and customers
Must be willing to comply with MVR review, background screening, drug/alcohol testing, DOT/FMCSA requirements,
Clearinghouse requirements for CDL drivers, and customer/port approval if applicable
