Position Overview
SMS-USA is seeking a Service Technician – Level I with a strong interest in electrical systems and industrial controls. This position is a mix of shop-based assembly and field service work, supporting the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation equipment. On the Job Training is Available.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble industrial automation equipment with emphasis on electrical components
- Install, service, and support automation systems at customer sites
- Perform preventative maintenance and basic electrical troubleshooting
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Assist with panel wiring and sensor installation
- Complete service reports and documentation
- Follow all company safety procedures
Required Qualifications
- Strong electrical aptitude
- Ability to read wiring diagrams
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel
- Own basic hand tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical or trade school training
- Industrial automation experience (would be ideal)
