Description
The Da Center Technician-_Mid supports day-to-day SEC da center operions under the SEC ISS2 contract by performing hands-on installion, configurion, logistics, and tracking activities for infrastructure and test equipment. This role helps maintain availability and reliability across SEC da center environments through disciplined execution of moves, adds, changes, and documention. The technician manages physical security controls, key access, and organizion of controlled da center spaces while maintaining accure software and asset records in DCIM tools. The position directly supports SEC operional objectives for resilient, well-documented, and auditable infrastructure services.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Da Center Operions and Equipment Deployment
- Perform daily on-site da center support activities across the Primary Da Center (PDC, Manassas, VA), Alterne Da Center (ADC, Edison, NJ), SEC HQ (Washington, DC), and regional environments, including hardware installions, de-installions, and moves/adds/changes.
- Install, stage, and configure infrastructure and test equipment in accordance with approved standards and procedures.
- Valide rack, cabling, power, and connectivity requirements during implemention and turnover.
- Support scheduled maintenance windows and 24x7x365 emergency operional response activities, including two-hour response when directed.
Configurion and DCIM Administrion
- Install and manage configurions for all assigned test equipment used for validion and troubleshooting.
- Maintain DCIM tool da for asset placement, rack layouts, configurion ste, and lifecycle stus.
- Upde software configurions and records to keep infrastructure inventory and configurion baselines current.
- Assist with capacity, configurion, and availability tracking da used for operional reporting.
Physical Security and Access Control
- Manage physical security practices for da center spaces, including key access control and accountability.
- Enforce access procedures for authorized staff, contractors, and escorted visitors.
- Maintain organized, labeled, and controlled rack, cabling, and equipment areas to support safe operions.
- Support physical security audits and remediion actions for compliance with contract and site standards.
Logistics, Coordinion, and Operional Tracking
- Coordine with engineering, operions, service desk, and vendors to schedule and complete da center tasks.
- Track tickets, work orders, and change activities through completion with accure stus updes.
- Maintain required documention, including rack elevions, wire maps, and configurion details.
- Contribute to incident triage support, follow-up actions, and handoff reporting for ongoing operions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Citizenship/Work Authorizion: Must meet contract requirements.
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust (or higher if required).
Educion: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Informion Technology, Computer Science, Engineering).
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in da center support, including administrion of equipment installions and configurions.
- Hands-on experience performing installions, configurions, logistics coordinion, and control/tracking in production da center environments.
- Must possess a BICSI Certificion or equivalent.
Technical Skills:
- Da center equipment installion and configurion management.
- Test equipment installion, setup, and configurion control.
- DCIM tool administrion and software configurion management.
- Physical security and key access control for controlled technical spaces.
- Operional documention and tracking for assets, configurions, and da center activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supporting federal IT infrastructure operions in a reguled environment.
- Familiarity with multi-site da center operions, including primary/alterne site support.
- Experience using ITSM/change-management workflows (e.g., ticketing, MAC tracking, operional handoffs).
- Working knowledge of da center capacity metrics and rack/power/cooling utilizion reporting.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / OTHER
Operional Support: May require participion in on-call and 24x7x365 surge/emergency response activities, including two-hour response requirements based on operional needs.
Locion: On-site SEC locion in Edison, NJ.
Travel: As required per contract direction.
