This is a tested and working vintage Japanese made toy vehicle from TN manufacture. Most likely made in the mid to late 1960's. It's not a modern cheap Chinese reproduction- it's a vintage cheap Japanese original.
Toy is pretty clean and it runs well with two D batteries. The on/off switch is the little crank on the front and it works correctly. The two rear lights are working and flash on and off as the car shakes and rattles it's way around. Thread that keeps the driver head from getting lost is still in place. The driver moves back and forth until his head pops off - and THAT's the mystery.... I think.
There is no rust or damage. The two little tin headlights are missing but can be easily replaced if you can find a donor car which probably would not be too hard as they made a LOT of these for import into the USA. The windshield frame is also missing, it's basically just a thick piece of wire that slides in place. The small missing items don't detract much from the car.
If you are a Japanese tin toy fan you will appreciate the detail on the figure (check out the green shoelaces) and on the dash of the car. The only plastic on this vehicle are the yellow seats and rather than take away from the character of the toy think it adds to it because it's that old style thick stiff plastic.
