Beautiful bodhran (pronounced "bow-rahn"), the Irish percussion instrument. Hand made by Karl Dederichs at Bucks Folk Music, oak and stretched goatskin. Includes a carved beater (the two-ended drumstick). And a sturdy nylon case with shoulder and hand straps. Also including an instructional DVD. Lots and lots of internet resources, but this is the best:

While this is traditionally used as percussion in Irish/Celtic music, it has wider uses, too. The Wailin' Jennys use one in some of their music, for example.
