The 1982 Fender USA Stratocaster is a unique and rare Strat. It
was only made for one year, and the quality was a light-years
improvement over previous Strats. With its hot X1 bridge pickup,
vintage-spec bridge, and 4-screw neck, this guitar will beat the
pants off of those 70s Strats that are selling for big bucks now.
This particular example is in near-mint shape and all-original.

Near-mint. Its only flaws are a tiny nick on the bottom and a
light scratch on the back. The ash wood grain is particularly
handsome. The ash body is a little heavy but that density leads to
increased sustain, and who doesn't want that?
Literally like new. There is no fret or fretboard wear to speak
of. No dings, dents, or other flaws are present anywhere on the
neck, not even at the top of the headstock (which always seems to
have dings on a vintage guitar). Its factory logo is completely
intact. Note that the headstock's serial number has been edited
out for this listing to keep scammers away - it is present in its
entirety on the headstock. The neck's truss rod turns both ways
normally and the classic Fender/Schaller "F" tuners work as good
as they look, with no bends in the shafts or any other issues. The
original nut is in perfect shape. The neck's action is on the low
side, and it is a joy to play.
No issues here either - all controls work as well as new, and the
factory wiring is unmolested. It wasn't easy, but I did get a
closeup shot of the "82" date code on the side of one of the pots.
True vintage Strat - with some extra oomph! Most of the 82 Strats
have plastic bobbin pickups, but these neck and middle pickups are
the more desirable fiber back bobbins, with a little warmer sound.
One pickup has an "81" date stamp, the other is not quite legible.
The X1 bridge pickup has about 50% more output than the typical
Fender pickups. From bluesy Hendrix to out-of-phase Dire Straits
to twangy bright country-rock sounds, this Strat has all the bases
The original bridge works perfectly. The pickguard has a little
wear (the usual pickmarks), but not very much considering its age,
as does the back tremolo cover. Finally, the original molded case
is in excellent shape, with NO issues, which is very unusual for
the early 1980s Fender molded cases.
THE PRICE INCLUDES:
The 1982 Fender USA Stratocaster guitar itself, with its tremolo
bar, back tremolo cover, and the original molded case.
