This Hammered Dulcimer Description:
Hammered Dulcimer 16/15 in great shape. Totally hand made by me - I have been building hammered dulcimers for over 50 years and have been involved in the "Dulcimer World" for 50 years as well. My instruments have been very favorably compared to the brand-name models but I build them one-at-a-time in a small shop. I do not run a dulcimer factory. This one is about 10 years old with some minor blemishes to the finish but nothing major. The tuning pins still sit firmly in the piano pin-block material but turn smoothly and hold their notes very well.
This instrument sounds great with a full, rich sound. The top and bottom are Baltic Birch and the front and rear frame rails are Sapele. The pin blocks are piano grade maple pin blocks. From Bass note D3 to High Treble E6. The two top Bass Bridge notes are C# and D#.
As Baltic Birch is a fairly stiff wood, the soundboard bracing is light, yet very strong. The enables the top to resonate with a rich, clear sound with very good volume with no overbearing sustain.
This dulcimer will come with a pair of hammers and a T-style tuning wrench.
You are more than welcome to come and look at this dulcimer and try it, without any obligation to purchase it.
This is a great instrument at an excellent price.
This dulcimer would be great for any player, from beginner to advanced.
