1996 Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Standard, made in Korea at the Unsung factory. Most Epi Standards of that era were black, sunburst or amber, but this limited edition has a translucent red non-burst finish that shows off the chevron maple grain of the top. Guitar-heads who are familiar with the famous "Lucy" Les Paul Standard that was owned by both Eric Clapton and George Harrison will see the similarity of this guitar to that one.
This guitar has the typical solid and clean construction of Epis of that time period, and it is in excellent condition (I'd give it a 9.8 condition easily, it is very clean all over.) It is a fairly heavy Standard, over 9 pounds I would guess, and the bridge pickup is slightly hot, as was the custom with Epis at that time, and has a trebly, aggressive tone, with tons of natural sustain. A correctly cut nut of quality material has been installed by noted NYC luthier Evan Gluck.
If you've been looking for a good Korean Epiphone Les Paul, this one is a standout. (The photos were taken on a flip phone, and do not accurately depict the color of the guitar, which is a rich maraschino cherry red overall.)
Asking $425. Comes with your choice of either SKB hardshell case or Gibson USA gig bag.
