Position Summary
The Inside Sales Representative drives revenue growth by managing inquiries for custom rubber components. This office-based role bridges the gap between industrial clients and the manufacturing team to turn custom specifications into sales RFQs.
Core Responsibilities
• Consultative Selling: Help clients select the right rubber compounds based on their application needs like temperature and chemical resistance.
• Process RFQs: Evaluate customer technical drawings, blueprints, and material specs to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Production Liaison: Coordinate closely with VP of Business Development, engineering and manufacturing teams to confirm project feasibility and lead times.
• Account Growth: Follow up on outstanding quotes, re-engage inactive accounts, and identify cross-selling opportunities for related services.
• Data Maintenance: Document all customer interactions, material preferences, and custom customer records in the CRM database.
Key Requirements
• Experience: 2+ years of B2B inside sales experience, specifically within rubber molding or industrial manufacturing.
• Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings, blueprints, and tolerance specifications.
• Material Knowledge: Familiarity with elastomer types, manufacturing processes (compression molding, injection molding, extrusion), and industry standards (ASTM, FDA, or Mil-Spec) is highly preferred.
• Software Skills: Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Excel for calculating custom component pricing formulas.
• Communication: Exceptional phone and email skills to explain technical manufacturing limitations to non-technical buyers.
