We’re currently hiring for 1st shift Order Pickers/Material Handlers to support our client, a global equipment manufacturer and supplier, for their Somerset, NJ location. The hours are Monday to Friday 7:30am-4pm and the position pays $21-23/hour. Candidate must have prior order picking experience. Experience with forklift, pallet jack or cherry picker preferred, but not required. Candidate must be computer proficient. Responsibilities:
Material Handler – Monday to Friday 7:30am-4pm – $21-$23/hour
• Pick and stage components for sales orders and production work orders.
• Responsible for receiving vendor materials and customer/vendor returns.
• Pack products for safe transport and completion of domestic and international shipping documentation.
• Daily cycle counting and other periodic physical inventory activities.
• Post inventory transactions daily into SAP in adherence to defined warehouse procedures and work instructions
• Assist in organizing and moving material to and from off-site warehouses, as requested
• Work in concert with the warehouse team, quality inspection team, and shipping team to support the responsive environment required by operations
• Participate in the warehouse 5S – Workplace Organization initiative to ensure that a safe, clean, and well-organized warehouse environment exists at all times
• Performing regular inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of related experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Must be computer proficient, with prior experience in performing inventory transactions in a computer-based business system (MRP)
• Knowledge of inventory controls or related experience in a managed inventory environment is required.
• SAP experience is desirable
• Ability to lift 40 pounds
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
