Food Service Porter
1. Cleans foodservice equipment and maintains sanitation in the kitchen. Routinely selects cleaning materials based upon equipment to be cleaned. Cleans assigned area with proper solution. Cleans floors, walls and kitchen perimeter-based upon daily assignments. Arranges equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning the assigned area. Cleans equipment and notifies the Manager/Supervisor of any needed repairs. Returns unused supplies to janitor's/chemical closet. Ensures that all items are replaced in an orderly manner and that the janitor's closet is clean. Routinely collects waste from areas of the kitchen. Washes hands throughout the workday and strictly obeys the hospital policies for infection control. Maintains kitchen floor throughout production and during Dietary operating hours. Assist with spills and garbage pick up during operational hours.
2. Reports all unsafe conditions or other questionable matters to supervision. Maintains work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
3. Adheres to prescribed safety practices and procedures. Uses proper protection when working with chemicals and waste i.e., protection, gloves, masks, apron.
4. Puts deliveries away as needed.
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Must be able to push and pull heavy equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to perform similar duties as required or directed.
