This is a used Apple TV 2nd Gen w/Remote and Power Cord
This Apple TV is no longer supported because Apple wants you to buy a new one every 5 years
Functionality
Limited App Support: The device runs an older version of the Apple TV software and does not have an App Store, so you cannot download new apps. Some built-in apps like YouTube are no longer supported.
Supported Services (as of late 2023/early 2024): It may still work with some services like Netflix, Hulu, and iTunes for purchasing/renting content, although the interfaces are outdated and service functionality is not guaranteed long-term.
Unsupported Services: It does not support newer services like Apple TV+, Disney+, or Amazon Prime Video.
AirPlay: It supports the older AirPlay 1 protocol, allowing you to stream content from compatible iPhones, iPads, or Macs.
However, newer security updates or OS versions may cause compatibility issues.
Video Quality: The maximum output resolution is 720p HD.
Activation/Sign-in Issues: Users often report difficulty signing into their Apple ID due to modern two-factor authentication requirements. A specific process of entering the password followed immediately by the verification code without spaces may be required to sign in.
