BeyondLimitations Empowerment LLC is seeking contracted tutors to work with adult clients with disabilities across New Jersey. This is a 1099 independent contractor position with a flexible schedule.
This role is ideal for:
Retired teachers looking to stay active and earn extra income
Former educators or professionals returning to the field
Parents seeking flexible work that fits around family life
Tutors who enjoy 1:1 teaching and meaningful work
What You’ll Do:
Provide 1:1 tutoring to adult clients in their homes or community settings
Support clients in subjects such as:
Reading & writing
Math (basic to intermediate)
Life skills / academic support
Study skills, organization, and confidence-building
Adapt lessons to meet different learning styles and abilities
Travel to client homes (mileage-based locations assigned thoughtfully)
Maintain professionalism, patience, and encouragement
Requirements:
Prior experience tutoring or teaching (formal or informal)
Teaching certification preferred but not required
Experience working with individuals with disabilities strongly preferred
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client homes
Patient, dependable, and professional
Ability to pass required background checks
Comfortable working as an independent contractor (1099)
Schedule & Pay:
Flexible scheduling (weekday, evening, or weekend options depending on availability)
Sessions are typically 1:1
Competitive pay, discussed during the interview
Location:
In-person sessions throughout New Jersey (clients assigned based on your availability and area)
