VINTAGE FRAMED HISTORIC MILITARY SCENE
GEORGE WASHINGTON-FIRST INAUGURATION IN NYC 1789
ART BY ARTIST THURE de THULSTRUP

Glass framed black and white etching/print/drawing created and published in
May of 1889 by Thure de Thulstrup (famous painter of American scenes) of
George Washington’s Inauguration Day 1789 in NYC.

The scene shows George Washington on horseback on a busy colonial street scene
in New York City, where he was inaugurated. The new 13-star flag flies from the
Federal Hall building.

The artwork is signed by the artist in the lower right-hand corner, but most of
the signature is covered by the border mat. See the last photo.
The frame is in undamaged shape with a scuff or two, and the glass is clear with
no cracks. The glass and wood frame measures 23 inches long and is 17 inches wide.
The drawing is approximately 13” x 19”.
This picture is a collectable for a historian, library, study, office, etc.
