TRUMPET PLAYING MONKEY BATTERY OPERATED 1950'S ALPS CRAGSTAN JAPAN IN BOX EXC WORKING. 1950s Battery Operated Trumpet Playing Monkey by Alps/Cragstan of Japan. It is 9" tall. All original with box including candy cane colored tin horn. Box has some shelf wear and dings, but no separation. There is a tear on the front with a piece of tape on the back so that it doesn't tear any further. The bottom box has a stain and rust from an old battery. Box and monkey are clean, dry and no odors. The monkey is in excellent plus condition. His limp left hand has been glued together, you won't see it unless you are really looking. Also a little surface corrosion on inside of battery compartment and back side of base, please see the pictures since it's very little and does in no way inhibit the toy from working. The toy works great and is in excellent beautiful shape The monkey's fur is excellent and features almost like new. One wing on bee is missing. Paint on base and horn is excellent except the spot at very bottom of base that I described. The monkey works like this: He is trying to chase the pesky bee with his left foot while playing the horn, there is also a bell on his right foot that rings. Unlike Ebay or auctions I charge no tax, shipping charge or buyers premium for Craigslist or Facebook purchases that are picked up or handed off.
