1876 Centennial Exhibition Wood/Oak Porter Keg Barrel Continental Brewing Co. Here is an extremely rare wooden Porter beer keg from the 1876 World's Fair. It has 6 metal rings that are in great condition, some minor rust on the old bolts. It is in excellent condition. Still has a nice label albeit somewhat dirty. It is 10 inches high. It must have held at least a couple gallons of Porter at one time. The inside of the keg is charred or toasted, there are quite a few burnt pieces of oak in the keg to help in the aging process. Some is leaking out a little. I have never found another to compare. Made by Continental Brewing Co of Philadelphia which went of of business at the beginning of Prohibition in 1920. More great vintage items on Craigslist. I also have vintage toys and advertising for sale on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace.
