Left Hook is a full service studio located just outside of New Hope; experienced with recording musical styles from opera to metal. I do mastering as well. Practice Space with P.A. is available. Also, will travel to you if, let�s say, you have a piano in a room that just sounds great and you want to capture your playing in your own space.

I�ve recorded over 300 projects from 3 song demos to full length albums. Several of those customers keep coming back because they know I give it everything I�ve got. Nothing leaves this studio without sounding its best. I promise you a final product that both of us will be proud of.

Prior to every session, we will talk so I�ll know exactly what you require so everything will be set up before you arrive. Nothing blows away the creative steam more than standing around watching somebody do things that could have been done before you got there.

A little about Left Hook: People say they love being here; it�s very homey with warm lighting; it�s comfortable and informal. It lends itself to good performance and good times. (Gotta have fun�)

If you�re brand new to recording�, don�t worry; I�ll help you through the process and hold your hand so you don�t trip over any cords. Seriously�during your sessions, if you want my advice and help, you got it. If you don�t, I�ll shut it. Be forewarned: If I hear something that doesn�t sound right, I will speak up. A little about Me: I�m not just a sound engineer, I�m also a musician who has toured with some pretty big bands and I�ve been producing and helping bands get somewhere for some time now.

I have engineered in New York and L.A. and now I�m back here where I grew up.

You may have seen me recording a band at Left Hook on the most requested episode of the Family Channel show, �Switched.�

I�m currently singing in a rock band.

A lot about my Equipment: First of all, I record onto ProTools which is pretty much the industry standard. But�before your signal even gets there, it passes through some high end tube and transformer based preamps and channel strips to warm things up for that classic analog sound. For this, I use products from Avalon, Neve, Empirical Labs, TL Audio, Joemeek, Drawmer, DBX and FMR.

Software: I practically have all the Waves Plug-Ins and practically all the PSP Audioware stuff (which is fantastic), IK Multimedia and Antares.

I also use the good old analog effect units that are looped through while recording and mixing, from Lexicon, TC Electronics, Sony, Alesis, and (don�t laugh) Ibanez for those funny yet cool signal destroying lo-fi sounds.

Amplifiers: Fender, Mesa Boogie and Hartke

Cabinets: Orange (4 x 12), Marshall (4 x 12) 1969 cab and a really nice homemade cab with one 12" speaker that fits nicely in its own miked up sound proof booth.

Keyboards: Roland SH-09 Monophonic Synth (70�s), KORG Triton Studio, DW8000, a Poly800 and a Mini Casio when only a rinky-dink sound will do.

Pedals: For various forms of distortion and effects by Vox, Hughes and Kettner, Foxrox, Z Vex, Tremolo, Boss, Line 6 and Damage Control.

Microphones: From very expensive to kind of expensive.

5 Neumann�s, one of which was actually used by Sinatra and Nat King Cole. (I was so excited to get that mic, I slept with it for a week.)

I've been producing for a solid 5 years now and am looking to implement some female vocals in my tracks.
I do mainly trance, progressive trance, and epic trance, but also am open to the more "popular" EDM syles like house & electro.

Initially I'd like to do something simple yet experimental, just to get comfortable with the new work flow. If you've never recorded before,
but think you have a decent voice, this would be a great chance to play around and test yourself. No pressure to perform, we work at whatever pace
you are comfortable with.

My DAW right now consists of FL Studio 9 which is always rewired to Reason 4.
Core2duoE7400, 500gb HD (just wiped out 95% of my samples and I love working like this now)
Virtual Synths include: Sylenth, z3ta, Sytrus & Blue (also just wiped out a lot of my synths but I do have Nexus & FM8 too)
Waves Platinum for mastering.
Hard Synths: Novation Xiosynth (synth + midi controller) and an Access Virus TI Snow. (new to the family & I love it!!)

This is a bedroom studio, untreated, and I also do not have a vocal booth for the mic, but I have a specific way I record that doesn't need a vocal booth.

Trombone Quartet Now Forming (East Brunswick, NJ)

Fun for the heck-of-it trombone quartet to rehearse twice monthly for strictly unpaid gigs at local nursing homes, schools and/or other organizations, or community events. We'll start off with classical charts and move on to pop and jazz, "Empire Brass" (or "Canadian Brass") style. Heck--we'll even entertain applications from baritone horn players or valve trombonists.

No membership fee, but you may need to chip in for music and/or light refreshments on occasion.

You must read music and you should probably have your own instrument and stand, but it is okay if you are a bit rusty. If you miss playing regularly as much as we do, then this is probably the right quartet for you.

Please also be willing to commit to attending about two rehearsals a month in or near East Brunswick, NJ, on either a weeknight or Sunday afternoon, but once we are established we can put the rehearsal frequency to a vote. The emphasis is on the word fun.

We are an original rock band that rehearses in Howell, NJ. We recently released our second album of original songs and have been proactively promoting it. It has been receiving some airplay and positive reviews. We are a tight-knit band with a passion for playing and creating music. I have to give this one more try because we came close last time. I'm looking for a Jazz pianist who wants to play Miles, Coltrane, Brubeck and whatever else turns you on. We're looking for a guy in his 50's but actually it don't matter what age you are as long as you love Jazz and have a portable piano you can lug around. We already have a bass player and a sax player and a drummer so we really need to round things out with the keys. Hello all, My name is sean and i am the x bass player of Natural Breakdown and the x guitarist of Roy Hobbs Agenda. I recently left Roy Hobbs and looking to get something new started hopefully in the new year. I have plenty of ideas and a few connections around the east coast. I have a degree in Music majored on the double bass and looking for talented musicians with a theory kind of background to form a new group. I've been composing new songs and have about 10 ready for a band to play them.

Starting Bowie Cover Band

Vocalist starting Bowie cover band, any instrumentalists interested in participating please contact. Covers of other artists work will also be included to add more variety (ie, the most obvious example, Mott the Hoople's "All the Young Dudes" - granted, written by Bowie, but also, say, a T. Rex song could be considered). Will focus on more glam rock/art rock oriented material (ie, "Heroes", The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars, Diamond Dogs, Scary Monsters & Super Creeps), but utilizing that style and converting other classic Bowie songs is not out of the question (one of my personal favorite Bowie songs is the title track off his soul album, Young Americans, and I'd love to convert that).

Eventually, if we have chemistry, all work hard and show commitment to the project, we could start writing originals, as that is my ultimate goal in the music world anyway. The cover group would give us time to gain chemistry on songs we all already know and hopefully get to know eachother, and then we could move onto original material with a better understanding of eachother and hopefully better results. Also, we'll have a touchstone for similar interests, but undoubtedly bring other different influences to the table.

Here is an old sample of me singing the song "Heroes". I have better samples that don't utilize cheap microphones and bad synthesizers from later in my singing career, as I lacked confidence and wasn't nearly as good as I am now when this was recorded. However, obviously the timbre of my voice is the same. This was done in one take, and the breathless notes and screaming-singing (as in actually screaming, not the hardcore metal style growl they call screaming) is in the spirit of the original's tone of desperation and not due to a lack of singing ability on my part. Please E-mail immediately if interested in this, or in utilizing me in any project where I could supply my vocal and performance abilities.
