Frizzled & Silkie Chickens - $15 (toms river)
The Bantam Cochin rooster will only get between 4-6 lbs when full grown.
Frizzles are a genetic defect where the feathers curl upwards instead of lying flat making the chicken look like a cotton ball. It's very cute and very desirable. Unfortunately, we already have a dominate male Frizzle and have no room for two more. If you breed a Frizzle variety bird to a standard bird 50-75% of the hatched eggs will have the "frizzled" feathers. The remainder of the chicks will be flat feathered but carry the frizzle gene. If you breed these birds to another standard bird a percentage of those resulting chicks will be frizzled and all will carry the gene. WARNING: Never breed a frizzle with a frizzle or you'll end up with bald chickens!
Our two boys are cute, full feathered and human friendly. We handle our birds daily and hand feed them in an effort to make the most people friendly birds as possible. These boys are easy to catch and calm to hold. They just started crowing so they have reached that point in their maturing where our dominate rooster will start seeing them as threats.
We are asking a measly 15.00 ea. for them. We paid more than that when they were just week old Frizzled chicks.
Feel free to email me (w/ a name and telephone number) with any questions or concerns. We prefer selling to people with chickens or at least past chicken experience.
Also have a VERY YOUNG Silkie rooster. Black w. Blue ears. 4 weeks old!
These birds are a beautiful addition to any backyard flock or DIY breeder.
**The Frizzle that is black w/ cream coloring is our big male and IS NOT for sale but gives you a good reference point to a full sized Bantam Cochin**
Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.
