Class descriptions.
SALSA: Our famous salsa classes are in New York\Puerto Rico\ on2 salsa style. We try to make them as fun and interesting as possible, so we can all enjoy this incredible latin dancing. The beginners class (Tuesday 9 to 10) assumes no previous dancing experience, we have a teaching assistant dedicated to completely new dancers. The Intermediate\Advanced class (Tuesday 8 to 9) is quite challenging, focused on technical and musical aspects of salsa dancing and complex yet enjoyable turn patterns. Students taking this class should be able to perforn the basic steps (basic step, side basic step, back basic step, 4 core beats, double slide, double cross, susy Q, copa, right and left turns) and to lead/follow confortably the cross body lead, turns, cross body lead with turns, and have basic spinning technique. Please contact us if you would like to have more information.
BODY MOVEMENT AND AFRO-LATIN DANCE: This class is intended to improve your body movement and control, to transform you into an incredible dancer. Learn how to move your body with the afro-latin rythms, so you have all the tools needed to dance Mambo, ChaChaCha, Merengue, Bachata, Son, Rumba, Samba and much more!!!!! Please bring a yoga-pilates-stretching mat (or simply a towel) for some stretching excercises at the end of this class.
MERENGUE, BACHATA, CHA-CHA, AND MORE...: In this class we review a different Latin Rhythm every week so you can have a variety of styles in your dancing toolbox. This will improve your dancing not just for these styles of music, but for a great deal of popular music that is influenced by these Afro-Latin styles. During the semester we will learn how to dance Merengue, Mambo, Cha-Cha-Cha, Bachata, Rumba, Son, Lambada, Regueton, Guaracha, Samba, and much more... Join us for this enjoyable experience!!!
PERFORMANCE GROUP: Ever wonder how to improve your overall dancing technique and make it look effortless?
Then the performance group is for you!!! Join us in this artistic challenge!!!
We are currently working on a choreography to the song Juanito by Joe Baatan. Please email us if you are interested in participating. (NOTE: We are already engaged with a current group of students for this particular song and choreogrpahy. If you are interested, we can only take rather advanced dancers who learn quickly at this point. But, even is this is not you, we will start a new choreography soon, so keep in touch for the next go round!)
